In Mandarin - my native language, Fluorite is called "the stone of firefly". In the summer of 2012, after taking a 3km-run alongside the Hudson River upon twilight, for the first time in my life, I saw fireflies dancing in swarm around one bridge pier in the Riverside Park. I had never imagined fireflies to be appear in a city of neon like NYC and I still remember the euphoria of first seeing them in person.
Fluorite is said to be able to bring more luck and abundance into their home and attract prosperity and inner wealth. When I studied gemology, the name of Fluorite - the stone of firefly always brings back the memories of these glimmering moments.
