Jiang Nan, literally meaning "south to the Yangtze river", is the place where I was born and grew up.
This jewelry piece is inspired by the blue calico (a kind of blue-white printed cloth) unique to Jiang Nan. While blue and white porcelain (Qinghua porcelain) has blue patterns on a white background, blue calico creates another scenery between "white" and "blue" using "yin-yang" techniques. Simple and plain, the blue calico has a fresh and elegant touch unique to Jiang Nan water towns.
This necklace is made on purpose to be relatively longer than usual length, so it can be used as a necklace or as a bracelet wrapped three times around your wrist. We also made a separate bracelet in case you need it.
